The Lubbock Amateur Radio Club will be operating a special event station at the National Cowboy Symposium & Celebration on September 6th through the 8th at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center under the call sign W5C.  At least one HF station will be manned throughout the event and be capable of operating on all bands/modes including digital.  For spotting information and updates visit LARC’s Facebook page and look in the comments.

The NSCS celebrates Western heritage and cowboy culture for those who know and love it, and introduces new audiences to the heritage and culture so they may embrace it as well. The event schedule includes musical entertainers, poetry and storytelling, Western writers and authors panels, film and movie seminars, a Youth Wild West Day, horse-handling demonstrations, a horse-themed parade, Native American activities and presentations, the ever-popular National Championship Chuck Wagon Cookoff, and exhibits of Western artworks and merchandise (“Purpose,” 2019).
